So he went into the card shop this Friday and well. He lost in one turn. I didn't think it was that serious :|
Legacy night?
Conceded the match. Or scooped.
Less than 60 cards?
No it was in modern. They apparently played a {laboratory maniac} combo in one turn.
Wow. That's an achievement worth at least 100G. How'd they do it?
I'm going to my first FNM this Friday.

Are you sure it was modern? Legacy has Cephalid Breakfast, and even that can't get there with self mill before turn two.
Legacy Rogue Hermit can t1 win, but it is inconsistent and very glass cannon

Sounds like he was cheated.
How did the guy rect when he pulled it off because if I pulled off a turn one lab maniac on fnm I would have geeked out.
Can somebody explain the possible combo? I'm interested to know
No idea I thought that was the idea behind modern so you cannot t1 win
here is a link to most of the turn 1,2,3 kills available in modern:

Not to mention that would be a god hand and I would call stacked
I'm detecting slight exadoration
The {Balustrade Spy} combo is usually played in Legacy. You make a landless deck with rituals, spirit guides ({Simian Spirit Guide} and {Elvish Spirit Guide}) and some other things to cast a T1 {Balustrade Spy} or an {Undercity Informer} (you generally run 4 of each). You mill out (because you have no lands) and your 4 {Narcomoeba}s hit the 'field. You sac three to {Dread Return}s flashback and target {Angel of Glory's Rise}. The Angel returns {Labratory Maniac} and {Azami, Lady of Scrolls}. You tap either and win.
Game 2: They side in graveyard hate ({Leyline of the Void} namely) and you use your sideboard to transform your deck into {Charbelcher's Rage} and laugh.

That's what I was looking for. However, in modern it's an exercise in absurdity. The only legal fast mana that can make it turn one are {{Chrome Mox}}, {{Simian Spirit Guide}}, and {{ {{Mox Opal}}.
{Chrome Mox} is actually banned, making it even harder to play T1 combo decks. This is why Legacy needs {Force of Will} and Modern doesn't.

What happened to {elvish spirit guide}? Is it too old?
It never got reprinted in the modern pool. {Simian Spirit Guide} is the color shifted version of it.
Well. Now he changed the story and it makes alot more sense. He said they had a turn 1 {Goblin Charblecher}
THE CASE IS CLOSED!!!

What is the exact decklist? Sounds so evil I want to make it!
I have a list posted in legacy named "this needs a name" however it doesn't use angel azami kill, it uses a different kill combo

You can turn it into char belcher too? Here I go to legacy...
Yup. Transformational side board. Pretty much negates all their gy hate that they will side in
