So tonight at my LGS store, its usually standard. Only 4 people showed up, LGS manager offered us a 4-pack draft @ $10 instead of doing 4 player standard pod. We even got to decide how we wanted our packs.
We went with Theros, Dragon's Maze, Gatecrash and Core 14.
I came in 2nd, no prizes. We got 4 pack draft for $10 and 2 FNM promos each. I pulled a {Spear of Heliod} while someone passed a {boros charm} and an {advent of the worm} which I scooped. Cant complain about that.
While we draft, a joke is made about passing the {Voice of Resurgence} as a player with us had passed one several months ago when he was just getting back into magic. Clearly he still hasn't lived that down.
The player across from me has just started recently and barely has played any magic. He proceeds to pull the most absurd pull luck ever that I have witnessed to this date:
He got a voice of resurgence. We were in disbelief and congratulated him. He clearly had won the draft already.
Then as we get our cards together for making decks, he actually had also pulled Jace from Core 14.
Really?!
I play him, and during play, he whips out a {Boros Reckoner}. At that point I asked him what he got for his Theros pack - {Fabled Hero}
Like really, not a bad pull for him at all. Wish my luck was like that. I gotta trade away 1/8 of my whole collection to get a damn reckoner. And I buy boxes!
i really dont understand drafts that aren't for picks. so after he opens all that value, is everyone just playing with their draft deck for fun?
