I already know the answer but my friends won't listen, so I need Kaleo or another judge guy to help with an official ruling: can you {Oblion Ring} {Emracool, the Aeons Torn}?
Does ruling 6/15/2010 take care of this?
You can oblivion ring Emrakul. O-ring does not target anything until it hits the field. At this point, it is no longer a spell (its a permanent), so Emrakul's protection won't save him.

Thought so. Thanks.

Not with my playgroup... ;)
So cards like {Fiend Hunter} work as well? Oh, my friend is gonna get a stern talking to.

It sure does. ETB abilities mean it's already resolved, and is a permanent now and no longer a spell.
