Title: Curse of Echos copy
Post by: TreeTopSky on December 10, 2013, 06:29:59 AM
I have an enchantment ( {Curse of Echoes}) and my friend cast a scorcery ( {Fireball}), he payed 4 as X with the additional 1 mana cost for another target creature. Do i have to pay for X and the additional 1 to copy the spell and use it?

You do not. {Curse of Echoes} creates a copy of the spell on the stack for you, with the same value of X as the original spell (provided there is an X in te cost.

From its Gatherer rulings:

1/22/2011   If the original spell has an X whose value was determined as it was cast, each copy has the same value of X.

I get the feeling you were playing Avodroc13?
