Title: Free FNM?
Post by: Kurama on November 30, 2013, 07:33:52 PM
Is all your FNM tourneys free? Mine is, but I know that there are shops that charge like up to $15 on entry.

Does your shop give prizes? I know that's what most entry fees go towards.

Yes. There's a payout for top 8, 1st usually gets 10+ packs, 2nd - 6+, 3rd - 4, 4th - 4, and then it's usually 2 or 3 for the rest. It's not a huge payout compared to other shops but it's pretty big for no entry fee.

Yeah, prizes are based on attendance and we usually get a good crowd. Also our owner counts on making enough revenue from selling, snacks, and TCG products. Also considering that the price per box for retailers is usually about $60 or less (or so I hear), that means each pack is a little less than $2, so selling drinks at that price meas that no entry shouldn't be a problem.

$5 for standard
$12 for draft

I think $6 for made decks (standard,edh,modern,etc)
$14 for draft
$25 for sealed (6 packs)

2 packs per person to the winners depends on how many show up to how deep it goes down. But usually only top 3

$5 optional fee for FNM.
Everyone that pays in gets some varying amounts of store credit, based on how they placed out of the people that paid to play. The most credit I've gotten before was $10 for first place. So not bad.

Friday night magic here is $5 per entry and the prizes vary but you do get a booster for just playing which makes it worth it. At gunslinger it's a bit different FNM is $5 and Tuesdays is for legacy tournaments and that's $10 per entry. Prizes range from cash to playmats.
