Title: Purity

Does purity prevent combat damage, my cousin argues that creatures are spells so therefore the damage from their attack should be prevented, who's right?

{Purity}

Purity specifies that only noncombat damage is prevented

Creatures and permanents are no longer spells once they resolve. They are spells on the stack, but not on the battlefield
