Title: Music and Magic
Post by: Metalxdelights on November 25, 2013, 07:44:54 PM
I absolutely can not sort and or organize my magic cards without listening to music. I have even created special playlists consisting of everything from Cradle of Filth to David Bowie to keep me going. Is anyone the same? If so, what do you usually listen to when sorting/organizing?  I'm currently listening to some Skinny Puppy ^_^

I listen to country or job for a cowboy or hip hop, or almost anything. And I'm right there with you. Music is a drug.

IWABO is from my hometown. Awesome people.

I usually play reruns of Doctor Who when sorting or deck building.

I'm not too familiar with their music, but they were always super nice when I saw them out and about, so I'm super stoked their doing good. Not muh comes out of Shreveport, LA so I'm proud of that band.

IWABO and Atmosphere are so good live! The last time I saw Atmosphere he came with Blueprint(amazing!) and a Evidence of Dialated Peoples.

I believe Krysta and Mim Cameron (former members) are from Long Island. I know this because I had gotten into an argument with Mim at a mutual friends house.

I place my entire music collection on shuffle sometimes as well. I used to sign in to Pandora but their suggestions have been horrible.

They may be but Steven is from here and the band started here. They're either in Bimingham or California now.

Nooooo. I was pointing out the fact that I've had an argument with one of their former members. Their music isn't for me, they try too hard. For my money, HORSE the Band is more fun.

I put my iPhone on shuffle... You never know what comes out... Like today, started with Pachelbel's Canon and Gigue in D, then 2Pac with Life Goes On, then Jethro Tull with Cross-Eye Mary...

Over the years my musical tastes have become that way as well. I remember being in middle school and high school and I was just all about punk and metal....so much has changed of the years. I listen to anything that catches my attention and sounds good. Im also no longer afraid to admit that I love singing along to Neil Diamond xD lol

Anything from B-52s to Amon Amarth.

I love it when my playlist goes from disco to Viking metal. Something about the terrible transition just makes me happy.

I'm a pirate. I don't drink beer.

Anyways, when my children aren't running around crazy and my wife isn't nagging me or watching her crazy hoarding shows, I will listen to rock or hip hop mostly.

Someone mentioned Atmosphere, and they are wonderful!! I love those guys.

I also like Tech N9ne and Incubus, as well as In Flames. Love melody metal.

Music and Magic go hand in hand for me. I listen to music on my Astro A40's at FNM and whenever I play EDH at my LGS. I jump all around between Alternative, Power Metal, and Melodic Death Metal. Right now I'm in my Melodeath phase, listening to Scar Symmetry. Love their old stuff, and even without Christian Alvestam I still like them.

I don't believe I've heard of them, I'll give them a listen. :) I've been on a melodic doom kick tonight with a bit of industrial in between.

They're amazing. xD If you check out any of there songs, it has to be from the Holographic Universe album. Morphogenesis, Timewave Zero, or Ghost Prototype II - Deus Ex Machina are all good starting points. Ghost Prototype II shows the widest range of Alvestam's vocals, though. He does all the vocals period. Rough and clean. Man has talent, to put it lightly. xD

Also, most of the music I listen to comes from Europe... So I don't normally find anyone who listens to the same bands I do. Occasionally someone sees me wearing one of my shirts like Accept or Eluveitie, but that's the extent of it. xD
Though before I "dropped out" of the university I was going to, I had a couple friends who actually listened to quite a bit of the same music as I do, I don't exactly talk to any of them anymore.

I'll give all those a listen before is hit the hay and tell you what've think. Most of the Doom and folk metal bands I listen to are European. A few industrial ones as well.

So far so good... And the cleans are amazing. It's hard to find bands that can do both well... usually on the record the combination sounds flawless and then they fail to deliver live.

I don't normally like concerts, just because of the sheer volume of the music. That, and I like to do other things while I listen to music. Call me weird, but that's how I am.

I like a few folk metal bands.Turisas and Eluveitie are among those few.
I'm not very well-acquainted with Industrial, though.

Edit: Good to hear you like it so far, though!

I like concerts and festivals but more than anything I love acoustics sets.

If you haven't already, you should check out a Mago de Oz, Korpiklaani and Lumsk, three of my favorite folk metal bands. Mago de Oz is from Spain.

And I've pretty much liked everything I have listened to so far. :)

Lumsk is probably the closest thing to my interests. I tried Mago de Oz and Kopiklaani and they didn't really interest me that much for the songs that I listened to. Lumsk reminds me of a softer version of Eluveitie, which you might like. Thousandfold, A Rose for Epona, and Everything Remains (As It Never Was) are three good songs from Eluveitie you should check out when you get the chance.

Tech N9ne's awesome, I got to see him in a small night club a couple years ago, awesome show.

I personally have been hooked on a lot of dubstep, trap, and house type music lately. Deadmau5 (although kind of a prick in real life) is my imaginary home boy. But arguably the diplo/grand theft remix if sweet nothing is one of the best songs out right now (might I remind you arguably, raise your weapon and zedd's version of clarity finish up the argument imo).
