Anyways I'm a casual player so EDH to me is finding cool cards that nobody has ever heard of and playing them. Nothing grinds my hears more than a T4 EDH infinite combo >:(
I subscribe to multiple idealogies about edh. Each deck I build is governed by one.
{Omnath, locus of mana} First ever edh deck. Built on the idea of improve with cards that pass through my hands but never go out of my way to finish. I am considering a pack to {gaea's cradle} challenge though.
{Oona, queen of the fae} Combo! They exist and can be exploited. Make them happen and wrap them in value.
{Derevi, Empyrial Tactician} edh can be a beautiful expression of creativity. You can win and look good doing it.
{Gaddock Teeg} Group hugs are weird. Why not make everything as awkward as possible for everyone. This is not an enchantment lock down version because that is not fun to play with or against.
I occasionally have fun playing infinite combos, but I try my hardest to not make it easy for myself to go off. In my Azami deck it's kinda hard because my general makes all my creatures into a draw engine that lets me draw the combos easily. But I also believe that if you're going to combo like that, do so in a non-detrimental way (like Lab maniac) so you can stand up from the game and let everyone else play it out.
However, my Rafiq deck includes no infinite combos. It has some devastating combos (Like a double-striking {Medomai the Ageless} that gets an extra combat step...) but none of them are infinite by far.
Most of the EDH games at my lgs get huge. Like 5-6 people in one pod, two different pods. I love being able to sit down and just play a game with all my friends that's entirely not serious. Especially after FNM when you're basically playing competitively constantly. (If it's considered competitive)

This. As a casual player my play group has a TON of infinite combos. This is also why I never play EDH. My only EDH deck is mono white soldiers/knights/angels with no crazy combos in it.
