Why do you have som much land????
I don't have many cards that are red/black! I am going to be buying some single cards in a bit any suggestions? I have 30-40 dollars to spend!
Normally you would never run 31 land in a deck unless it was some sort of combo/landfall deck or something. I understand you are new to MtG so I will give you a good rule of thumb for deck building. I call it a 20-20-20 rule. Start with 20 land, 20 creatures, and 20 other spells. Then go from there with tweaking it. You need to consider mana cost as well, so if you run a weenie deck that swarms with a lot of 1 and 2 nana cost creatures then you may only need 20 land or 19 at the bare minimum. Now if you are building a deck with higher cost creatures like 5-8 mana cost then you will want 23-24 land or so....26 at the highest IMO. The higher casting cost deck will also need some control spells like {mana leak}, {vapor snag}, {doom blade}, {day of judgement} to name a few. This higher casting cost deck will also need some low casting cost creatures to help with early defense....creatures like {doomed traveler}, {black cat}, or death touch creatures will help sway your opponents from attacking you.
There are so many ways to build a deck but just try to find a theme or cards to build a deck around and figure out if you want to build a control oriented, Aggro AKA aggressive deck, or a combo deck. I would recommend building an Aggro deck that uses low cost fast creatures and see how that goes.

Search event decks online and buy one of those. They are around $25 and give you an awesome base to build from.
Ok what should I switch out I have 11 open spaces atm!
Is this better?
If you like B/R then go with vampires. There are plenty you can get really cheap. The more expensive ones like {Stromkirk noble} and {Olivia valderon} will always help but you should spend money on 4 {Dragonskull summit} first thing. All the best creatures are nothing without the mana to cast them.....I consider good dual lands worth their weight in MtG gold.
Alright I am going to buy the vampire onslaught event deck

Don't buy it if you plan on playing Standard! Only 15 of the cards in it are Standard legal!
Can you post a cheap deck I could buy to play standard?
