Title: To the Middle Men
Post by: Butch1977 on November 24, 2013, 01:15:07 PM
Are any of the middle men on the list either trained or educated on card conditions? I collect playable sets and only keep what i consider M/NM. I ask because if I use one on a trade, if they could give secondary opinion before the trade goes thru if the other party is willing to these terms

"Trained"? It's not that difficult... Lp has white around the edges, nm is untouched.

I say trained as has a jewlers scope, a sewing grid for borders, black light, that's what I do. It's very difficult determining mint from near mint. A speck of white is done. That's easy to tell.  There is so many differences between card conditions. If i ask for a NM and offer cash, and there is one speck of white on the border then I just completely wasted my money. If there is surface scratches, if it's off centered, if the card is dirty.... I can could go on
