{abhorrent overlord} {gift of immortality}
At the beginning of your upkeep, sac the overlord and it'll keep returning giving you free harpies! And tons of them!!
He could be used with other creatures I suppose like {grey merchant of asphodel}. Give the grey merchant the gift of immortality and keep sacing him with the overlord :D
You could only sacrifice once a turn, since {Gift of Immortality} returns at end of turn phase.
Ya I know and the overlord only lets you sacrifice once a turn. But a combo like this can keep triggering enter the battlefield effects so good ones like grey merchants can be repeatedly used.
And it's standard :D harpies everywhere!!!
Im working on a junk reanimator using gift on {voice of resurgence} in the early game and big baddies like {sylvan primordial}, {angel of serenity}, and {ashen rider} mid and late game. {Cartel aristocrat} and {rescue from the underworld} serve as sac outlets.
I love rescue from the underworld :) I use it in my black devotion deck. Lets me activate 2 enter the battlefield devotions at once
Or an older card by the name of {dual nature} to make things more interesting.

Can use both, using the nature to get a token of the main critter, and the lives to double the tokens put onto the field.
If you also put a {grave pact} in play, it works a treat...

And {Grave Pact} is some nice devotion for {Abhorrent Overlord}
Lol if this thread continues we may have a black devotion deck made up in the comments xD
Nothing wrong with that methinks...
In fact this is how several good deck ideas get germinated
{butcher of malikar} to spice up even more
A lil Junk Modern devotion. I like it! Nothing better than token army decks with built in creature removal. Throw some green mana ramp cards in for the big boys and I think we have a deck!
{ghave guru of spores} + {butcher if malikar} + {sigil captain} / {cathars crusade}. Pump out army while thinning the enemy ranks
