Title: How old are these people!
Post by: Butch1977 on November 16, 2013, 01:22:37 PM
Alright, i've been talking to a few people here and there on Gathering and can't help but wonder how old they are. So I think i'm in the older crowd. Anyone else care to give up true age?

I'm 16, so I guess I'm part of the younger crowd

I'm thinking age ranges!
30-40 legacy
20-30 modern
< 20.  Standard

I think it's hilarious. But yet i'm easily amused

And what about vintage?

I'm 28. I started in 95-96'.  That qualifies for vintage right? Hah

I actually posted vintage in the ideas and feedback section but then thought Legacy sounded so much better for us older folks. Hahaha we started this stuff. We are the legacy. And just posted on the bump!

So lets do 5 year increments. Post it on private page so your not giving up real age. I like it anyway. Dont know how you all feel.

Honestly, and I hope ertai and others agree with me. My fiance to this day gives me a lil s%*# for the game. But the fact the younger crowd is keeping it alive thrills me. What a lot of people forget is this game was voted Mensa's top game back in the day. That says a lot. I would rather battle someones mind in a game of wits than seeing if i can run faster. Quodos to all you guys and girls!

We're true nerds good sir. In the positive sense. Hats off. Hate that the young crowd doesn't let the "nerd" flag fly. I love it at this point in my life. I liken to being a reniasance man. Can talk about anything at anytime with anyone.

I actually started because of a free comic book day at my lgs. My best friend and I started competing but now I just mop the floor with him. And funny story I was bragging about how good I am and this guy who plays legacy played against my STANDARD VAMPIRES and he beat me turn 2 with his legacy elves. I was slightly pissed.

Haha! I like it! Hard to play standard tribal against legacy elves. Elves and goblins were so nasty back in the day it was sick! Was nothing to have 100 tokens by turn 4 or 5 if the game made it there. O nostalgia.

I'm more partial to Legacy Merfolk. And it's way better now with {True-Name Nemesis}

Yeah, that thing is just sick. Throw in the new  {Master of Waves} and the recent  {Talrand, Sky Summoner} merfolk and satyrs are the new elves and goblins.

I don't think either have a place on legacy. So many better options. And I don't see datura doing anything outside of standard unless we get som really good ones.

Really? You don't see a buffed token army? Guess i just love infinite tokens. I do not play regular legacy so you have the experience. Probably too late in the game to put it together. Just so tempting to me to make it happen

Goblins probably not, elves haven't gone anywhere. I have played several tier legacy elf decks win turn 1-2 with ease.

I, myself, finally built a home brew dredge deck, and love it. I get my occasional turn 2 if my opponent is super competitive, but I usually play casual, so I will draw it out a bit.

I didnt play the original Ravnica.... Was out of the game for a long time. I've read all your posts on dredge. I have been a from the beginning mill player. (Super slow in standard right now) and this is exactly why we need either age group or something like this! Hahaha.
