Is it true you have to pay for online play?

Yes. 18$ for 3 months. Or 50$ for a year.

Still cheaper than xbox.

Careful about the slims, they usually suck.  They did for the PS3 because it couldnt read a disc worth crap.

Soooo the ps4 is not the same as the ps3. The internal components are far more advanced in the ps4. That being said, with a stronger system, there comes a lot of energy used. Engergy creates heat. The more compact the system is the more likely overheating can happen.

I recommend going to Best Buy to buy the system so you can get the Geek Squad Protection.

But then you have to actually speak with the Geek Squad. And only God knows why anyone would want to do that.

Not true. You talk to customer service. They say roger, and they send you another one. Boom.

Geek squad not involved.

Man I got the four and like sensing that I was in a truly happy place, be it karma, the powers that be, or lucifer, I get the flu.

So anyway.

I love it. I was having some issues with getting free dlc. And to answer some questions you must have playstation plus in order to play online. But in was going to get it anyway since I already have 4 free games thanks to it. I mean If you already have a boss pc its nothing new graphically. But its leagues above ps3. The pop in pop out interface is like a smartphone i love it. And I prefer to game on console. Can't wait to get ff14 arr for it in feb.

I have cod ghosts and assasins creed btw. Assassins creed is gorgeous.

I love AC4. The problem I see with the ps4 which will make me wait is that the graphics for AC4 for the PS4 is exactly the same as a good PC or PS3. Unfortunately the next gen doesn't affect that game. Or so IGN and Game Informer says. I played for all 3 and kind of agreed. It does depend on your tv a lot. I have one of the highest end LED TVs so I judges fairly. Regardless I love the game so much!!!

on ac4: I've heard that disappointment from others also, its just a port. Nothing in it really uses any new nextgen tech.

That was an example. The same is to be said for every other game as well.

Plus, how do you expect to get "next gen" graphics, with a terrible 200$ tv?

"You" being the generalized public who bought the PS4 or Xbox.

Actually, when comparing it with Killzone - Killzone looks astounding compared to it

AC4 is really just a lazy ass port. That whole series hasnt been impressive IMO

Assassins Creed is one of the best games I have ever played.

Pokemon is the best game I have ever played. Without Pokemon I wouldn't have ever known how neat it was to color imaginary friends that go in balls that I carry in my pocket.

Love it.

ok, graphics are so much better on killzone because that was just beautiful.  Although I hate the gameplay compared to kilzone 1 and 2, dare i say 3 (because that was also bad)

I started on AC3 and it felt like it was holding your hand the whole time.  I hate games that do that... :(

The constant need of your little owl friend is definitely slowing it down

I really hated kz 3 due to playing it with a move controller gun and the fact it just would drive my whole game in where to go etc

I'm just waiting on this console, they keep releasing these new systems with such minimal content and servers that can't handle releases.
