....or is there anyone else out there that's getting tired of "Devotion" decks? I mean, it was fun and interesting in the beginning......but now, I'm over it. And it's annoying.

I love the concept of devotion, and I have a devotion deck myself, but I'm kinda getting bored of it dominating standard. I want something new and exciting!
i'm going to do a white devotion deck, maybe................. but i'm still enamored with heroic for now, and mayyybe boros enchantments
The only way I run devotion is by using Nykthos in my Kaalia deck, but otherwise I'm sick of it too.
Ya it's stupid I hate the whole T2 Pack Rat T3 get another one before I can find my answer argh so frustrating!
Well unfortunately this is the longest wait between sets...so you've gotta deal with it till February or try a new format in the meantime.
It's apart of magic, and I feel that once mono-something is ID'd you'll have a sure fix in your deck to stop them - golgari charm and rakdos charm rock blue mono
Dark betrayal really upsets black mono also :)
They may have Erebos but not enough devo on board cuz I blew it all up! Sideboard an exile artifact/enchant for the gods always!
I like devotion I have a white/black extort/black devotion deck(all my whites have some black cost and the extort lets them damage opponents while staying back and not dying letting me build black devotion) :) doesn't always win but it's kinda fun. I'm a big fan of devotion. I like using spells too though. If you don't like them then don't use them :P when I'm not in the mood for devotion decks I don't use them :)

This seemed just a pinch smart-alecky toward the end, even though I can tell you tried to not make it so noticeable by adding in the emoticons. But I guess if that was you're point, then good job?

We don't know that. We know there will be 2c gods, but the devotion mechanic may be replaced by something else, who knows?
Personally, I'm not a big fan of devotion anymore. It was cool initially to see an awesome mono blue deck that wasn't based on control, and see BBD take it home with a brew, but after that it got old. I use a Nykthos and a Master of Waves in my Azami EDH deck, but that's the extent of my devotion to devotion. UWR Control, still truckin'!

Agreed... My Izzet has weaknesses, but I try to find an answer, at least in the sideboard.

not really what I was going for O.o there's just no other way I can think of to say it. That's really how I see it.

Anyways.
My Rakdos and Golgari deal with Devotion nicely. It's just nice to see people run decks (even Esper counts.....I loathe it so much) that don't call for Devotion as the main win-con. It's just seems redundant after a while.
.love. standard, go modern/legacy! Seriously though, I hate that nowhere around here has modern nights. All standard, every week :(. I hate standard. As for devotion, I haven't had much of a problem yet. Only been to one standard event since Theros droppe and only played against 2-5 color decks :P. Apparently {Maze's End} T-Fog is a thing in standard?

My lgs only does standard and limited. Though there is a free legacy tournament on Sundays at two. Springfield, Missouri just isn't big enough for modern I guess :/

I love modern, but I suck at deck building and keep trading away damn fetches :P. And, you know, don't have anywhere to play it... It'd be awesome to play EDH outside of tabletop games! Although, that is part of the fun of EDH. The only formats around here are standard and draft. Terrible and expensive!

Use that old {door to nothingnes}+{Lich's Mirror}+ give you opponent your stuff combo that makes it NEVER LOSE, lol.
Or {Painter's Servant}+{Iona, Sheild of Emurica}+{Abysall Persecutot}+{Platnium Angel} combo, nothing ends.
These are all good combo decks. Just for LR's info :)
And yeah, devotion is getting old.

In EDH the more the merrier that's my next project building a fun EDH deck bc Uril gets too much hatred. Like I play against Rafiq decks and Sharoom decks yet I'm still the most hated :'(

Isn't devotion just chroma (I'm listening to maro's podcast and he said he was detrimended to bring chroma back because it wasn't used to its potential.)
Pretty much, but I likesd the incarnation of chroma a lot more than I like devotion
I like devotion but I think they just didn't realize how easy it is to use exe. The god triggers are too low. But that's just my two cents.

devotion is quite fun, i had some crazy ideas to run a legacy green devotion to get out large hulking creatures out but hey at leasting its not banding :p

Flanking was introduced in mirage, which I think was 98. Horsemanship was introduced in Portal, which I think was 99. So not exactly new...
And banding? I found that very easy to understand... Idk what the commotion about it was...
