Title: Modern Deck for my brother
Post by: Greenfacetusk on November 08, 2013, 01:29:42 AM
So my brother wants me to make him a good modern deck for Xmas and I have no clue what to make him. He has a $40 dollar limit for this Christmas gift . Anyone have any good ideas? It will be much appreciated.

A modern deck for $40 is going to be extremely difficult. You might want to look up a {restore balance} deck, or mono white "Death and Taxes" type deck - they are the cheapest modern decks I know of that are still formidable.

Maybe a modern pauper deck?

Not to be sarcastic, but pauper is great!

Depending on the price of {pack rats}, build a deck with 4 pack rats, 2-4 {ogre slumlord}s and as many other rats as you want!add some life drain and creature removal and viola! My dad's rat deck owns!

I actually agree with this, and where it's modern put your hands on as many {relentless rats} as you can (and then give half of them to me). I also recommend {crypt rats}.

My mono white Knights deck is pretty cheap without the expensive stuff like {Aether Vial}. The most expensive knight in it is only expensive because it's in standard right now. ({Fiendslayer Paladin})
I love it because 90% of the deck is all first strike, so you can just jam like, (For the budget version) {Bonesplitter} onto one dude and stonewall all your opponent's dudes, because basically whatever they attack with is gonna die and fail to trade. Even more so if you have like a {Basilisk Collar} lying around. FS, DT, no removal? gg?

Budget slippery bogle is a thing. 90 percent of the deck is 2 bucks or less.
This.
