any ideas of improvements?
The expensive version or the cheap version? Because my friend has a Modern combo elves list with fetches, shocks, etc.
what do you mean? which shock lands and stuff and why?
If you mean the expensive version, you need
4 {Verdant Catacombs}
4 {Misty Rainforest}
1 {Breeding Pool}
1 {Overgrown Tomb}
~5 Forest
4 {Heritage Druid}
4 {Llanowar Elves}
4 {Elvish Mystic}
3-4 {Deathrite Shaman}
3 {Nettle Sentinel}
3 {Elvish Visionary}
3 {Elvish Archdruid}
1 {Ezuri, Renegade Leader}
1 {Craterhoof Behemoth}
1 {Chord of Calling}
3-4 {Lead the Stampede}
2 {Beck // Call}
(this list probably isn't exact, it's just off the top of my head, really, but it's really close)
Since you can use Heritage Druid as soon as it comes into play, you use it to tap it and maybe some Nettle Sentinels, play some more elves to untap the sentinel, tap them, repeat. You use Beck so that you don't run out of gas while you combo. Your win conditions are incrimental damage, Hoof, and Ezuri. At least, that's how my friend plays it. But yeah you can literally just empty your hand on turn 2 if you had a dork t1 and a land t2, just play a heritage Druid and 2 other 1-drops, tap them for {G}{G}{G}, then lead the stampede and keep going on turn 3. Elves are the reason {Glimpse of Nature} is banned in Modern. T4 Craterhoof Behemoth for lethal is tempting, yeah?
The misties fetch your breeding pool for Beck, the catacombs fetch your tomb for Deathrite shaman, both turn on Deathrite shaman as well. This deck is all synergy.

Technically, all your really need are green fetches to get the shocks, seeing as how either way they're forests. That list is sweet though! I've been debating whether or not to run {Chord of Calling}, it seems so damn good though! If you end up with the {Elvish Archdruid} + {Umbral Mantle} infinite mana combo, a 1 of Emrakul also seems pretty plausible!
Although Umbral Mantle makes you whiff Lead the Stampede more. I thin the list is better off without it, for the sake of consistency.
