Title: Card amount in binders
Post by: ibtrickey on November 05, 2013, 08:48:55 PM
In the card database I look up a card. Go to the bottom and then click for a certain number of that card to go into a binder like my tb and it goes but then goes back to none. I go and check that binder and those cards are there but I can not make it more then four.. I want to keep increasing the amount. Help. Error.

Errors should be reported accordingly. I will ignore any bug report which doesn't contain basic info such as your version. Read How to ask for help.

Has this issue been resolved?  I, and some others, are experiencing the exact same behavior.

Yes, the specific action described (assigning a card from the database to a binder) seems to cause some kind of damage to that binder. I see it most often after updating the database.

I saw no way to fix a binder damaged in this way. However, it is relatively easy to abandon the binder and make a fresh copy of it. Start over by creating a new binder, all blank. In the settings of the new binder, merge (select) the damaged one. It will ask if you are sure, then it will bring all the cards over to the new one. You will have to rebuild your sort settings but that is all. The count-changer should work as expected. Your damaged binder will be gone.

When you make future additions to that binder, (or just in general), instead of starting at the database, start from a blank card in the binder and let that take you to the database. Do the addition from there and it seems to make less trouble.

If it sounds scary, practice the maneuvers ahead of time with some practice binders before committing to it with your full carefully built one.

Good luck.

I will definitely give that a shot.  Thank you!

For me I can go back the next day or sometimes later in the day and increase the number of the card in the binder but it takes a while

This behavior is also occurring when adding cards to decks.

I recall this bug. Try exiting imtg and double tapping your button to open active programs. Swipe up imtg to close it and then reopen it. I think this fixed it for me...

No this problem had been ongoing. I mentioned it a long time ago but never fixed. Still happens. You select a card to add and when you select the number it selects the number and snaps back to none. If you then update your private page it updates properly with the number you selected. Basically it's just a nuisance and will confuse people bc it looks broken.

The fix suggested by AwaySinceMirage doesn't seem to work for me.

Yes I've had to find new workarounds since then myself as well.

Are you still having trouble changing card amounts in a particular binder? Try sliding the count-changer over to the count-changer of another binder, you might be able to change from zero to one (or four) in a different binder (even though you don't want to).
Then exit the binder you are in and go over to the other binder, the one you did add it to (even though you didn't want to). Remove it from that binder, you didn't want it there anyway.
Go right back to your first binder and try the count-changer there now. That has been working for me lately. No idea how or why. But Magic is all about finding crazy ways to make stuff work. Good luck!

That is again a bunch of raciness to fix something that should just work.

I'm also now noticing that when you select "Standard" as a format, it doesn't include BotG cards.
