I have declared my {Desecration Demon} with +1 counter on it as an attacker. My opponent says no blocks. Before damage he casts a fused {Turn // Burn}. I respond to this while it's still on the stack by blood rushing it with a {Skarrg Goliath}. We both look at eachother in confusion. How does this play out?
This here is a creature layering question.
Since the {turn//burn} effects a different layer than the counter and the +9/+9.
The demon is now a 0/1 with a +1/+1 counter and +9/+9 until end of turn, and is a big 10/11 weird.
Cool. That is how played it out. Thanks!
Would the weird have trample? Or would that ability be removed by the resolution of Turn//Burn?
Even though it resolves first? Hmm. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me... Could you elaborate?
It loses trample.
Deso gets bloodrushed +9 trample etc
Deso gets turned and burned and becomes a 0/1 with a +1/+1 counter a floating +9/+9 boost and 2 damage marked on it.
Turn checks for all abilities and removes them then resets the base states to 0/1. Nothing in it's effects says remove any buffs but it is very clear on abilities.
I believe they are still separate spells
(Fused - may cast one or both halves from your hand)
So first he has to turn your creature - 0/1
Then he burns it for 2 damage, but these spells are separate... Is it possible to let turn resolve and then cast blood rush between burn?

Fused spells are one spell.
{3}{R}{U}
Target creature becomes a 0/1...
Deal 2 damage to target creature.
You could not target a pro red creature with the turn portion when fused because they are one blue red spell. Just like you cant do somethin inbetween the counters on {common bond} you can not do something inbetween fused effects.
Layers are hard.

Not really. As a rule of thumb... Only one spell/card/ability can resolve at a time, and try not to make it overly complicated when trying to figure it out.

Very good to know, I use a jund deck with fused cards left and right and bloodrush also. So this can help me clarify any confusion.
Also since we're on bloodrush: it can only be countered as an ability correct?
That is correct. Blood rush is an ability and must be dealt with as such
Can you pithing needle a creature with bloodrush to prevent its ability from being activated from the players hand?
Yes you can. The needle affects all cards of that name regardles of zone.
