Title: Fat pack suggestions?
Post by: XFatal on March 17, 2012, 11:48:06 PM
Well, I'm getting a Fat Pack tomorrow. What's a good set to get? And don't say DKA. I hate DKA lol. I was thinking New Phyrexia, but what have you guys enjoyed most?

DKA kind of sucks, I'd have to agree. New Phyrexia all the way. That or Innistrad because it has some neat cards and also expensive ones.

I'm not really into tournament play yet, so it doesn't matter. I don't think I even have a standard legal deck =P

New Phyrexia for value. One mythic will pay for the pack. A sword will double your money.

I'd say he's probably limited to standard, unless he has boatloads of cash lying around and finds a Shards fat pack for sale or something. I'd go with innistrad.

DKA isnt all that bad....cept that i have like 6 copies of every card cept no Sorin or Havengul Lich. But innistrad is probably my favorite

True, but if turns out like my last Fat Pack (DKA, no less), I might not even get a decent rare...

Yeah probably New Phyrexia, or Innistrad, M12 has some pretty good cards too.

Meh, I don't like shards all too much. A few cards, but not enough to justify a fat pack.

Fair enough I'd say. I've only ewe really bought them because I like the guide books or whatever they're called.

I felt a little sad whe nI saw the Fat Pack Poster for DKA, I have Posters on my wall from all the way back to Lorwyn Block, ( I actually missed Innistrad though, idk how that one looks) all it is, is Sorin! What the heck? The others have 4 or 5 different cards, blown up (technically, the real art is bigger) to make a poster, and DKA is just... Sorin. Lame.

That's sick, I bought a few, but no cards worth mention were pulled.

Your Walmart sounds cool, I'm lucky if my local Walmart has anything :( that's why I buy things at a dedicated magic shop ;D

I miss the Dual-Pack... Packs? Lol, that had the "random" Promo insert. I bought a ton of Shadowmoor/Eventide that way, and a few random Unhinged Packs. That same Walmart is crappy for Magic cards nowadays  They only have Intro Packs lying about in a jungle of YuGiOh and PokΓ©mon 

Its not as though I hang out there. XD Sometimes they have great deals that get scooped up like Commander and Premium Deck Series, but individual boosters are over $5. 😑

Wow! I buy boosters for $3.50 each. And are the commander decks really that good? I've never bought one, so I don't know. And I've wanted a premium deck, but never see any :(

I'd say it depends on what you play. But if your meta, or group, allows cards from those sets, and especially if you play multiplayer, then HECK YA!

In that case, which one should I get? The only thing my group doesn't allow are proxies =P

I bought them all, and honestly I like them all except political puppets. I know how the deck is supposed to work, but really, WTF?

It's "group hug". You use your resources to bribe players into doing stuff for you. Really depends on your play group.

That's silly. Today I played a late {Phyrexian Rebirth} in a 4 person free for all, leaving no blockers for my 18/18 horror ;D why help opponents when they can help you?
