Just because I can, and I would like to know.
Please defend your answer, such as:
I like Marvel because my favorite hero (not super hero, this is very important!) is Iron Man.
I do like Batman (also not a super hero) but that is the only DC character that I like :)
I prefer Marvel because their characters are more human and less like indestructible gods (*cough* Superman *cough*). Although, Batman is AMAZING!
Edit: I don't need to explain Batman's amazingness, its self-explanatory.
To be fair, the hulk has closed a black hole though... Just being fair...

....and Thor is a God...but Superman, because he wasn't powerful enough, comes back as an actual god. Martian Manhunter is essentially Superman with shapeshifting, Flash is impossibly fast and can go back in time, the Green Lantern can do god knows what...
DC solely for the Vertigo imprint. Swamp Thing (classic, Saga, and the New 52,) the Sandman (read The Sandman: Overture today actually,) the Watchmen, Fables, Hellblazer, V for Vendetta, Y: the Last Man, and the Frank Miller Dark Knight series.
Haven't kept up too much with Marvel. Obviously I like darker stuff and Marvel just never appealed to me.
Marvel. I'm sorta in the boat with Agrus. To me their stories are just more real world applicable. I can remember reading God Loves, Man Kills for the first time and having one of those eye opening experiences.
DC tends to have just plain greater exposition (like the ones Mike listed)
Marvel caters more easily to the fun-loving, day-dreaming side of readers.
So I guess DC because their works of fiction are just more worthwhile
Mmmmmmm dead pool!
Marvel has more thought out story lines, tie ins with other comics, and more believable heroes.
Always liked marvel heroes more in general, but the batman...
I've always liked do villains but hated the heroes, and loved marvel heroes but disliked the villains.
Thanos...
Marvel I think has better heros but I love me the dc villians

Speaking of the Joker, has anyone read Death of the Family? I picked up the TPB over the weekend but haven't started it yet.
The last batman comic I picked up was year one I enjoyed reading that
I like Marvel more basically just because that's what interests me. However, DC has Watchmen, Green Arrow, Batman...
But on that note, the Watchmen comics are probably my favorites all-time.
I like DC the best. Know why? CUZ BATMAN! That's why. Also the Joker. Man what an amazing villan.
