I've realized the perfect plane for Kiora atua. And I'm afraid it might not be theros.
I'm not sure which version I've seen of her is real or not, though most of her abilities have to do with lands. Now, that can either hint at where she is from/set will be in, or maybe she will end up in theros and I'm a babbling bird brained maniac. But one thing I am sort of almost positive on is a good place for her is zenkidar
WhY?
Her character design does resemble zendikar merfolk.
If they finally make her, I will have to pick up some copies for my modern folk deck... I wonder if they will make her {U} or keep her at {U}{G}

But is that because she uses krakens and other huge creatures and the ramp is needed for the functionality of the deck or are they to hint at the planeswalkers flavor?

possibly both?
I'm with Birdbrain and Kaleo on this one. It's anticipated excitement surrounding the hype that she'll be in Theros. But the truth is, she doesn't look like the Merfolk of Theros (she's not ... 'pointy' enough) but looks like the Merfolk of Zendikar for sure. Her play type in DotP was definitely land ramp/fatty drop based and her artwork suggests a 'roiling' ocean.
(However, I've also listened to argument that she'll turn up in Kamigawa purely because her artwork is slightly oriental in aesthetic. My response was a finger to the lips and "sshhhh")
Maybe post Theros is Return to Zendikar? And maybe the Fetches will go down in price!!!
I REALLY want this to be true!
Best part of a set!
I only started in Garecrash and one of my first draft packs was a {Stomping Ground}
Mark rosewater has stated on twitter a while back that a return to zendikar could happen and that the phyrexians could be part of it....eldrazi with infect maybe.
Kiora was my favorite deck in DotP, and arguably is the reason my spark for mtg reignited after a bit of a hiatus. I was hoping she'd be in Theros.

Good heavens, no! The day that happens, I'm running land destruction, nothing but land destruction! Unless they do another Iona with "... name a creature type ..." instead, then there's hope.
Phyrexianized Eldrazi is a bit of a running joke on Blogatog. Whenever asked the question "who would win: Eldrazi or Phyrexians?" He always responds "I don't know who would win, but I know who loses: us"
I am in the small minority of people who want to Return to Zendikar. We've been there not too long ago. I'm more interested in an inverted Shards of Alara (with Wedges).

id love that. And would run {R}{U}{G} in that case

Oh wow, I'd be keen as mustard for this! Junk all the way for me!
Interestingly enough I seem to have left out the word "NOT" from my previous statement. I would NOT like to Return to Zendikar. I'd prefer Alara (inverted) or Lorwyn...
Zendikar was just what, 3 years ago? I'd even rather go somewhere new before Zendikar already.

i agree in that we have been there too recently to go back. Inverted shards does sound cool (BUG/RUG ftw) however, why do you want lorwyn?
Lorwyn had a tribal theme, and i thought the monsters were cool. Besides that, i don't know, I think they could do a better job this time.
An inverted Shards block with Wedge colors would be incredible. Return to Alara! Let the Conflux go nuts!

It's been done, albeit a long time ago... Called Invasion block. And the wedges have actual names... Not the BUG, Junk, American carp that is going around today...

an enchantment block has also been done before theros, that didn't stop theros
Invasion wasn't really done like Shards of Alara did three colors. I want that treatment done.
We've also never got a Green/Blue Planeswalker, Kiora is perfect for that, just as Ral Zarek was perfect for Izzet.

i disagree with this. Lorwyn was all about tribal. Lorwyn wasn't about ramping into big things. Except elves. She seems out of place there for some reason

hmmm... I guess you have to think about more then just abilities and flavor. Maybe she fit in the block because she filled some gaping hole in the block?
Na... They put her in as a reminder that planeswalkers can come from anywhere... She's from kamigawa

She fit into the block because she was studying the Moon's effect on the plane (Werewolves). Its a lose connection but that is the claim. The guy above has a really good point also.
{kiora atau} in "huey"
Kurd Ape would be ok, I guess. 😜😜
