Title: Question on selling cards?
Post by: Boomer17 on October 30, 2013, 12:36:29 PM
My lGS will buy cards at full price. So if it's a 20$ they will give you 20$ store credit do I guys think it's worth it to sell some higher value cards that I'm not using that are for trade like {storm breath dragon} jace AOT and others to get a box of RTR! Still lots of goodies in that set that I need like deathrite's and shocks or is it better to just try and trade for those cards I'm looking for. If I did get a box I would do a seald draft with some buddies. Thoughts anyone?

Yeah get a box for sure! But let yourself expect things, like Deathrite Shamans, as I bought two boxes and only got one. Haha, Lolz.

100% buy in is a broken system. If you buy a box of almost anything you will be able to trade in and buy a new box and still have stuff left over. Eventually you have $100 credit after buying your next box.

100% is weird, but I like when there are practices like that which highly benefit the customer. My lgs gives away boosters for all kinds of minor things because they want the community to be really active and motivated to participate which i would think raises entries in all their events.

But answer to OP is a no-brainer. Totally take them up on it!

I think Kaleo is referring to the opportunity cost of them not buying at a lower price (correct me if im wrong), which is essentially loss

Totally do it! My lgs buys at about 35-40%... I sell to card-kingdom, because I can get 80% there, but I can't sell everything.

Well the store isn't losing anything so it's not really broken.

Can you check and see if they have any of my needs, and if they do, can I send you some cards for you to trade to the store for them?  And which price site do they use?

It is easier to sell a box for cash and profit than it is to sell singles.
