If I'm at a theros draft, what are great first picks and what deck types should I shy away from
Go Heroic if you can, {W}{R} Heroic is UBER strong, but remember to pick cards with heroic AND cards that trigger heroic.
Don't shy away from high drops, Theros limited is SLOW.
I played Esper Control at a Theros Draft, and from experience...just don't. If you do, make sure you can find a big beater for a win con.
Alright thanks, and a big beater would be something like medomai or ashen rider?
not medomai. bombs in draft would include {nemesis of mortals} {nessian asp} {fabled hero} any planeswalker, flying wins a lot of games, and minotaurs seems to be really strong together since its usually open since the cards are bad if not working in synergy.
Basically like in every draft. Draft what you get. Always leave room for big beaters like {Shipbreaker Kraken} {Nessians Asp} but make sure that you have some aggro hate bc a T1 heroic and T2 trigger can suck balls I played UW midrange with 4x {Yoked Ox} 2x {Battlewise Hoplite} and {Daxos of Meletis} and went 3-0 bc I backed them up with counterspells and creature hate like {Voyages End} {Last Breath} etc.
Lastly if you want to win dont just money draft Rares (obviously if it goes with your deck take it) but just draft w/o worrying about proce
i agree that you shouldn't just rare draft but most cards of value have that value for a reason so think twice before passing it because it could be what kills you.
Depending on how much the draft cost and how much the prize pool is...don't be afraid to rare pull! If I am in a $15 draft with a prize pool of $20 and I open a foil {Elspeth, Sun's Champion}, I'm rare pulling the s**t out of it.
My LGS does rare redraft that's why I said that
yea rare redraft is way to go otherwise ppl just windmill slam money and the decks are usually much worse
