Title: RDW
Post by: DimirOverlord1300 on October 29, 2013, 09:35:08 PM
I want to build a solid, competitive rdw since they're normally fairly cheap and I was wondering if anyone had good ideas for cards in them other than the ones in recent decklists

They literally take no skill to play and little to no thought to build. {Young Pyromancer}, {Chandra's Phoenix}, {Purphoros, God of the Forge}, {Magma Jet}, {Lightning Strike}, {Molten Birth}, {Skullcrack}, {Shock}, etc.....then commence to burn burn burn and/or token token token.

{Ash Zealot}, {Fanatic of Mogis}, {Stormbreath Dragon}, {Chandra, Pyromaster}, {Mutavault}, and other things already mentioned.

Ugh.....dat Mogis. Every time a RDW player drops one, I want to burn it. Lol.

Was that an intended pun? Lol.

On topic: only play Young Pyromancer if you're playing Purphoros and Phoenix and a ton of burn spells. The creature-heavy version plays less Purphoros and burn and no Pyromancers. It's debatable which one is better. I think it's a meta call.

Oh, and don't forget Mizzium Mortars.

I prefer creature RDW, with {firedrinker satyr} and {madcap skills} and such to stop opponents before they get a chance.

I love people who run  {Firedrinker Satyr}. It gives my main deck  {Clan Defiance} so much more value

But seriously, I think you might look into some different economy decks. RDW only seems like a real deck because of how many people play it just after a change like a rotation. Personally I love match ups against it because I know all I have to do is survive the opening hand and I win.

Ah...{Firedrinker Satyr}....why did {Blasphemous Act} have to leave standard...

{Firedrinker Satyr} is literally the worst card since tibalt...
It makes every damage based removal spell have a copy that hits the opponent.
