When I cast it can I change a mountain to an island until EoT?

You are not changing the land from one basic land type to another, like in {Nylea's presence}, you are changing the text of a basic land. If a permanent says mountan in the text, you can change it to one of the other four.

Honestly it doesn't matter it's just good for my {Nivmagus Elemental}. But so u get it right I tap use {Trait Doctering} to change their swamp text into a forest? Can they still use the swamp to tap for black?

I say no, since they have a swamp that now reads, "tap: add green to mana pool"

No you can't. {Trait Doctoring} would work on say {Cabal Coffers} but it won't work on {Swamp} since nothing in its text says anything.

So how does Trait Doctering work? Can some one give me an example?

The permanent in question has to have text that literally has one of the five colours of MtG of one of the five basic land types in it. {Trait Doctoring} then lets you change it to any other colour or basic land type until end of turn.

You could for example change {Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth} from swamps to any other basic land type or {Sheoldred, Whispering One}'s swampwalk to forestwalk. You could also change {Akroma, Angel of Wrath}'s protection from red or black to any other legal colour.

You can't however change an actual {Mountain} into an {Island}.

so, in response to this, does {nylea's presence} really work with {chained to the rocks} on an island. is {chained to the rocks} looking for a land named mountain or with the basic land type mountain?

It is looking for land type mountain. As such {chained to the rocks} can enchant say a {blood crypt}
