As always ill just give the exact example I'm curious about...
{skylasher} has protection from blue so if it blocks {nightveil Spector} will it be dealt damage since Spector is also black or will its protection from blue protect it?
Since {Nightveil Specter} is both black and blue, all effects of protection happen. In other words, {Skylasher} will not take damage from the specter

That's what I thought but wanted to be sure...thank you

Unless he uses an effect that states that damage cannot be prevented... Then the {Skylasher} will receive damage

The wording used here is a bit strange, but ya if an effect says damage can't be prevented su h as on {skullcrack} he will take damage since protection prevents damage
