Obviously, the best dual lands are the Alpha Dual but how to the others rank?

Shocks
Checks {Rootbound Crag}
Quick  {Blackcleave Cliffs}
Man {Celestial Colonnade}
Pain {Battlefield Forge}
Temples

That's SUPER helpful. If I could give you 100 +1's, I would. You just made finding the right dual lands SO much easier for me. Thank you :D

I'm pretty sure the scry lands are strictly better unless you are running {maze's end}

Ya they're the Temples like {Temple of Deceit}

Don't forget filter lands. Better than most duals.

I think the shocklands ({Overgrown Tomb}) are better than the fetchlands ({Verdant Catacomb}) for one simple reason: fetchlands aren't nearly as useful without shocks. Think about all the dual lands. There are only two land cycles that I can think of that have the basic land in their type, the alpha duals and the shocklands. If it weren't for shocklands you would have to use fetchlands to fetch basics and that would make decks a lot less consistent  because you would have to have more basics (because you wouldn't run 4 fetches and 1 basic just in case you end up with two fetches and have nothing to fetch). On the other hand, shocklands still function perfectly without fetches.

True BUT that's the thing with Shocks it makes fetches better. We have shocks so fetches are better. It also depends in the deck though. In most 2 Colour decks and argument can be made for Shocks. But in 3+ Colour Fetches are WAAAAY better. Also in your GW Hexproof deck fetches are INFINITELY better bc you can search for a Dryad Arbor

But, as I said, Shocks without fetches--->still really good, Fetches without shocks--->iffy. (In the majority of decks)

Except we are talking about facts and multiple formats. Legacy had real duals you can fetch. Modern had shocks. That's how it is and being so, fetches are more versatile and make sure you have what you need. That's important.
