So, my mate runs a Grixis Zombie deck while I run a RWB Angel/Demon deck. We've built them with the intent of Two-Headed Giant hilarity, taking into account standard Commander rules coupled with staple THG rules.
What we wanna know is that, if in a casual THG game you're not able to have any more than four copies of any card besides basic lands, does it work the same way in Commander THG? Assuring only one copy of each card between decks.
For example, my mate has {Akroma's Memorial} in his deck, meaning I can't have the same card in my deck.
This probably isn't the answer you're hoping for, but I'm afraid there is no official answer. Commander rules are made by completely different methods and people (the folks at mtgcommander.net as opposed to WotC or DCI), so it has no official combined rules with any other formats (that I know of). Your playgroup will have to go by a houserule of what you feel is the best way to do it, which is how things go in the casual world of commander sometimes.
Yeah, we'd figured something along those lines. Thanks for taking the time to answer, though. +1 for niceness.
If I thought of it another way, Can we look at it like how we treat legends in THG? Does the rules say anything about legends in THG? I tried looking for it but to no avail.
In my play group, we refer to 2HG with EDH decks as 2-headed whale. We've basically blended the rules. EDH banned list. No shared cards. But that's the fun of magic. You're free to make your own format as long as everyone is made aware of all the rules.

Do you mean to ask if both players in one team can control a copy if the same Legendary? Like my friend and I both having {Rakdos, Lord of Riots} on the field at the same time?
If that's the case, the answer's no. A team in a THG game is considered one player, as two players share one life total, and both players lose if one player can't draw a card.
With these things in mind, both players fields could be counted as a single field. Could you possibly play two copies of a Legendary without one of them dying?
