Title: Good green or red one drops
Post by: Spencer Addington on October 20, 2013, 02:36:42 PM
So I've been thinking about making a mono green aggro, but finding good one drops is proving to be difficult for me, so I need help. I'm also not apposed to making it a gruul because I want to add {mageslayer} to it. Any one drop green or red creatures would be greatly appreciated. Also, it needs to be kinda hard to kill, so hexproof would be awesome.

Some good one drops in RG

{Goblin Guide}
{Experiment One}
{Kird Ape}
{Vexing Devil}

Hexproof but not as strong

{Slippery Bogle}
{Gladecover Scout}

Are you wanting it to be Standard?

He wants to use mage slayer, I doubt it!

For some reason my eyeballs disregarded that, lol. {Elvish Mystic}, {Fyndhorn Elves}, {Llanowar Elves}, and {Arbor Elf} are always good for ramp, but they're not hexproof. {Radha, Heir to Keld} is another awesome ramp, but it's a two-drop. Still fits into your red/green theme.

Alright, I went with 4 {goblin guide}, 3 {vexing devil} and 3 {llanowar elves}. Thanks for the suggestions :)

No 1/1 deathtouch scorpions from theros?
Not really modern playable but use the 1/1 deathtouch from Theros {Sedge Scorpion} with {Armed // Dangerous}...

I prefer {lure} with {engulfing slagwurm}.

I think so, that was the old death touch, my neighbor has a few of those cards, was a blast when I enchanted it with {defang} and it pretty much did nothing lol.

Exactly. One sided creature wipe, + you gain tons of life.

What about  {Wasteland Viper}, blood rush a trample, worse case take down a monster with a tiny little snake bit.

{Lightning Bolt} is pretty good.
