Title: Mutavault
Post by: Mattao19 on October 20, 2013, 12:08:37 PM
I have a {Mutavault} and a forest in play both untapped.

My opponent swings for 3 with his 3/3  {Loxodon Smiter} and I activate Mutavault to block BUT THEN I declare Mutavault as a blocker then tap it for mana so my Mutavaults still alive right? And therefore no damage goes through?

Are you trying to say that the {Mutavault} survives because it is tapped? If so, you are wrong. The rules were changed (I think around 8th Edition) so that tapped creatures both deal and receive damage.

Tapped defenders always received damage, they didn't always give it.

hey i know this isn't related to the posters question but I didn't think there was a need to start a new thread for mutavault questions.

anyyyyway, say i have an ability that puts a +1+1 counter on mutavault while its considered a creature. would said counter go away when he becomes a non creature land? would it be considered an illegal target or does it not recognize the counter and it just sits there happily
