So I was playing with a buddy last night and I found some awesome combos with {elite arcanist}
So the first one. {elite arcanist} + {strionic resonator}! An arcanist that can now cast multiple spells!
Next give him {illusionist's bracers}... He can now cast a copy of each spell that he exiled a second time for free
Next add in your {strionic resonator}s and target the bracers, yet another copy of each spell for only 2 mana!
Played this last night and the damage can get crazy high for just a few mana per turn xD!!!
Cards like {boros charm}, {lightning bolt}, against a weenie deck {Rakdos charm}. Crazy high damage for just a few mana :P
I was playing his myr deck and managed to get 19 damage with the Rakdos charm on it alone! No copies!
I manage to pull out the arcanist, the bracers and 2 resonator against a second deck of his and boros charmed him for 16 for 6, 2 to cast, 4 to copy the bracers twice giving me 4 casts of 4 damage
shouldn't the {elite arcanist} and single {strionic resonator} not interact. When it etb does its ability trigger or you just make a choice about exiling a card?
Nope the op is correct, etb is a triggered ability, and the arcanist is under your control when it fires, so you get to copy the exile ability, giving him more options.
Nice combos.
If the Arcanist has multiple instants exiled can you play them both for their mana costs or do you choose which?
The x in its cost is the combined cost of all exiled cards and you chose wether you cast one or all
The ability does refer to a singular exiled card though. I'd be surprised if you were legally allowed to cast both simultaneously
One second, someone actually replied to the question I posted in the rules section about that very thing, ill find the post :)

I made an edit because I got something wrong. If you have two cards exiled with a single Arcanist, you can cast both from a single activation.
So if you have Bracers on the Arcanist, and you Resonate the Bracers trigger, you'll be casting up to three copies of each card.
From the rulings on Resonator:
Quote
In some cases involving linked abilities, an ability requires information about "the exiled card." When this happens, the ability gets multiple answers. If these answers are being used to determine the value of a variable, the sum is used. For example, if Elite Arcanist's enters-the-battlefield ability is copied, two cards are exiled. The value of X in the activation cost of Elite Arcanist's other ability is the sum of the two cards' converted mana costs. As the ability resolves, you create copies of both cards and can cast none, one, or both of the copies in any order.
Good god, that's so cool
