Noah and I are playing in a modern tourney at our LGS tonight. Noah will be playing aura hexproof. Which deck should I play? American midrange, Gruul Aggro, or Red Affinity? I've placed first with our Midrange before, not sure if I should go that route again or try something different. Help me decide!!! :)
Well, what do you like and dislike about each of those decks?
I've always been a fan of my rule "switch my deck every 2 weeks" lol so if I were you I'd go with a new deck :D
If he's playing auras you should play black sac spells just for fun :P
Go with something fun, like Mono-{U} Merfolk!!
No, seriously, go with R/G Aggro... It's quick and powerful
American mid-range is pretty good. You could go with that one
The GR Aggro deck isn't finished yet, running 2 {Raging Ravine} instead of {Copperline Gorge} :/ not a big deal but idk how it will perform

I'd stray from the RG then. Chance are you'll get the ravine early game when it coming in tapped will hurt...atleast that's what always happens to me in these situations lol. Honestly out of the 3 I'd go America esp if it's already done well in the meta.

Yeah it's a sweet deck, we could always pick up the gorges before the tourney but I'm still tinkering with the SB and the main board a little

I'm least comfortable with the Gruul deck anyway since its new. I also have a {Restore Balance} deck that I could surprise everyone with, although it can be inconsistent, it's rather mean, lol

Yeah man, I'll post the list in the modern section an pm you when I do. It's a pretty standard list except I'm running four ooze.
Forgot to meantion Moneekah placed fourth & I second, just barely losing to affinity in the finals (I needed another land for coronet so I could Lifelink, but drew a 2nd coronet --lol). I beat Jund though, which was very satisfying :D He didn't have any hate cards for my bogle deck and didn't think anyone in our meta had that deck :P
Sweet can't wait to see it.
