How do you guys deal with an {Ætherling}?
Lets say you don't have a {Pithing Needle} in hand or on the field. How else can one deal with such a baws
{pasifism} and {murder} and {angelic benediction}
Edit and {angelic edict}

Then they blink it in response so they are only good for a turn
Exile would work

Exile would work
Again, blink in response and your spell doesn't have a target, so it fizzles.
There are a few ways to slow down an {AEtherling} but it really depends on what kind of deck you are running, what format, and what you want to stop it from doing.
{ jesters cap} or anything that froup tarfets
{Praetor's Grasp}
Play against them. Learn what their win condition is. Snatch it.
I believe he means Standard answers.
If they misplay, {arrest} will work on one
Cast {Arrest}, when they blink: counter it with {Trickbind}...
Standard answers to Aetherling:
1. Pithing needle
2. Blind obedience
3. Counter spell
You could also use that new Theros sovereign who acts like a blind obedience
I think I'll put a couple blind obedience a in my sb I have needles too but it's good to be prepared bc at my lgs on average of 22ish players at FNM I've counted 14 of them play {Ætherling}!! So annoying
A solid answer for it is {Debtor's Pulpit}. If you can find a cheaper option it would be worth considering main boarding.

Good point! +1 too bad it's so high CMC!!
{Sundial of the Infinite} I believe would work once they exile it correct? Not standard but best I could do.
{Slaughter Games}
Destroy or exile them in response to them blinking!

This! Also, he comes back before eot, so {blind obedience} doesn't help much.
Ohhhh that AEtherling.......curse you AEtherling! Why did they have to make you so good?!
Because you're Blue {U}.......that's right! Now it makes sense :) Blue has all the answers <3
I've noticed a lot of players that are running mono or even two colored decks have tons of basics just chilling in their decks. Why not add some shock lands and splash for {Thoughtseize} or counter spells like {Syncopate}
In my Grixis SB I run 3x {Gainsay} vs {Ætherling} and {Sphinx's Revelation}, among others. Idk if you're running Blue though

It stops the pseudo-vigilance. They can't attack, then blink him and use him to block.
