Title: Hero of Bladehold question
Post by: Yugornot on October 08, 2013, 06:09:45 PM
Let's say a  {Hero of Bladehold} is put out using  {Preeminent Captain} .
Will the tokens still be put out from the Hero. Because it says when it attacks, which makes me think it's the act of attacking with it that does the triggering. And with the Preeminent Captain it enters attacking. The same question applies for the battlecry bonus.

I'm not entirely certain on this, but I'm thinking no, you don't get your tokens. He is put into play attacking so his attacks trigger won't fire (by being declared an attacking creature).

From gatherer. It refers to the tokens but the idea is the same.

"6/1/2011   Although the tokens are attacking, they never were declared as attacking creatures (for purposes of abilities that trigger whenever a creature attacks, for example)."
Declaring matters

Also, {Preeminant Captain} puts in Soldiers, Hero is a Knight. Not sure if that matters or not.
