Title: Whip of Erebos
Post by: DimirOverlord1300 on October 06, 2013, 05:07:36 PM
So if I have a {Whip of Erebos} and I have something with lifelink, say a {Vampire Nighthawk}, would the vampire do damage and then I gain 4 life because it has lifelink twice or do I still only gain 2?

I believe multiple instances of lifelink (among other abilities) do not stack.

Edit: here's the ruling
702.15e (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=702.15e): Multiple instances of lifelink on the same object are redundant.

You only gain two life, multiple instances of lifelink don't stack.

Yet we always have to mention {Armadillo Cloak}.  Not lifelink, so can be stacked with lifelink.  One of the few (if not only) card printed this way.

Well we do have to mention the ancestor of lifelink,  {Spirit Link}.

{Vampiric Link} does this as well
