Title: Downfall Of A Player
Post by: Mlerner12 on October 05, 2013, 04:39:48 PM
So, can you legitimately target a player with {Hero's Downfall}, since all the intro things say "YOU ARE A PLANESWALKER"
That would be cool...

No, but you can do it just to be that guy...

In the storyline we are planeswalkers, but in the game rules we are not.

No, this came up with {dreadbore} it's a fun idea, in favor! But it means destroy the permanent type planeswalker.

You can only "destroy" a permanent. Players aren't permanents.

That would be cool. And Agrus, I am going to be "that guy" at my next PTQ.

{door to destiny} said "destroy target player" when MaRo created it. But it got changed in development. An effect like that would have to at least cost twelve mana, quite possibly more

Wouldn't it be hilarious though.

Player1: I cast {Hero's Downfall} targeting you.
Player2: umm...ok?
Player1: does it resolve?
Player2: I guess?
*player 2 explodes*
Player1: woot!  I win again!  Who's next?
*the rest of the room takes 1 step back*

I'm going to do this.
And if they say you can't do it, pull out the little guides that are in intro packs that say "You are a Planeswalker" and then after they read it, they explode.
