So I was thinking it might be fun to have a casual tournament where everyone has to use a different creature type deck. Every spell has to do with your tribe (you can't use {Searing Spear} with goblins but {Krenko's Command} is fine) with the exception of cards that are made for tribal (such as {Door of Destiny}, {Coat of Arms} and {Konda's Banner}), if you have a question ask. You can use cards from any set (including Un- sets!) and you can build the deck on a deckbuilding site (so you don't have to throw away $300 on a squirrel deck you won't ever use again). I was thinking we will give about two weeks to allow people to sign-up and build your decks and then the tournament will start. Only one person can use each type (so we don't get a million of one type) so post here what you want and I will modify the post with you and your creature type.
I figured I would give people a week or two to sign up and get their decks together and then we can decide when to play. Will still have room for those who want to join, but I am making the deadline to join Sunday, October 13 at Noon (12:00pm) EST. I will have the matches posted in this thread and in the Wall Games sometime on Sunday (after noon) and you will have the week (until noon, Sunday, October 20) to play. I hope everyone is working on their decks and hope you are ready for Sunday!
-If neither person posts in the thread (in Wall Games) then it will count as a lose to both
-if one person posts and the other doesn't respond, the person who did post will have it count as a win and the person who didn't post in the thread will have it count as a forfeit
-If both players post in the thread and the game never gets played (or finished) I will probably give an extension or we will call it a draw
-I know everyone has lives so if there is a problem, don't worry just PM me and we will take care of the tournament so you can deal with whatever you have going on.
Scoring System:
A 2-1 or 2-0 win will be 3 points
A 1-2 loss will be 1 point
A 0-2 loss will be 0 points
A draw (if it happens because we have to close a round to move on with the tournament) will count as 1 point for each game finished.
A draw that occurs because one player was not able to get on here, will be 2 points to the person who did post in the thread.

If the spell has to do with with your creature type, its good. So: both Sorins are good (because he is a vampire and {Sorin, Lord of Innistrad} makes vampires), {Urge to Feed} and {Blade of the Bloodcheif} also both have to do with Vampires but {Go for the Throat} doesn't work.

Sorry, its not. You have to choose a creature type. Oh and I am making an amedment to the rules, you can only have one planeswalker (Jace, Sorin...) but multiples of that planeswalker ({Sorin, Lord of Innistrad}, {Sorin Markov}). I am making it a rule so that no one says humans and uses a ton of planeswalkers.

No, you would not be able to use either of those cards. Every card you use must be your creature type or reference the creature type directly in the rules text. The exceptions are planeswalkers: You can use Ajani for cats, Sorin for Vampire, ect...with the exception to that exception being Humans who can only use one planeswalker (Jace, Gideon, Venser...)

Lands are fair game. I said you can't use SPELLS unless they mention your tribe.
To others, the reason you can only use spells with your tribe in the rules text is that I thought it would make a more interesting tournament, instead of worrying about removal and counters. The game is for fun and the tournament is just casual; if you want to play, play, if not, its your choice.
I like what Agrus has set up. Where the card has to mention your creature type. It makes it interesting and fun. Also you can switch out of squirrels if you'd like.

You might be suprised...angels have {Avacyn, Angel of Hope} and {Herald of War} to drop stuff fast, Goblins have {Goblin Grenade} and a few lords, Wizards and Merfolk have some fun countering and a lot of the creature types have a lot of lords so they will also get big. Each creature type has interesting advantages and will make the tournament interesting.

2. I will randomly roll for the first round and then each round there after will go by points (First against second, third against fourth,...)

The matches will begin whenever I post them on Sunday (I will try to make them as close to 1 pm or noon as possible) and you have until the following Sunday at noon to finish. As for what happens if people can't play, check the first post, there is a list of rules there.

No ban list. I figure 99% of the stuff that would end up on a ban list is already removed from the tournament by the "only your tribe" rule. The tournament is anything you want including Un-sets
