Title: Killing the gods
Post by: Joshnoodles on October 02, 2013, 07:39:03 AM
Can  {Turn // Burn} be used to kill one of the new gods? (Ex.  {Thassa, God of the Sea})

Now that Indestructible is an ability, yes. Turn will make the gods lose their abilities, making them quite killable!

Only when they are creatures though. Devotion has to be 5+ or else they are only enchantments

Humility only when they are creatures...but know what's funny? If a god changes to a creature while {Humility} is out, it can't change back, even if devotion becomes less than 5 (while humility is out).

yes. Countering is not destroying, sense it hasn't even been materialized yet.

Think of it this way, while it's on the stack, it's like a bunch of dust getting ready to settle. Except you know exactly what the dust will settle into. So you wave your hand around through it to stop it. Because you know you can do it when the dust settles into something solid

{Merciless Eviction}. This will see a lot more play between the gods and {Fleecemane Lion}

I wasn't sure if they counted as creatures in pre-resolution since they don't post resolution until devotion is met.

The spell type is legendary enchantment creature, so yes it is a creature spell.

The "not a creature" is a continuous effect when it is a permanent (unless mentioned otherwise, of course).
