Title: Activated ability
Post by: Raven316 on March 13, 2012, 09:12:09 AM
I always get confused with this I know there is triggered, activated and static ability but what is a tapped ability with no cost is it an activated ability? I'm asking this for {rings of brighthearth} if I tap a creature to put a token in play can I then pay 2 to put another one?

Tapping is an activated ability.

Some thing like {Unruly Mob} is a Triggered ability.

Static is some thing like Vigilance, Trample, Banding, Phasing, Shadow... "Something that is true about the creature" I believe is the term.

Not all activated abilities require tapping the way I see it an activated ability is any ability with a cost for it to be used and will state the cost (be it tapping, mana cost, or both) followed by : then a description of the ability.

You see it correctly.
(Cost):(Effect) is an activated ability.
