Title: The App reacting with a delay
Post by: Rob on September 29, 2013, 02:17:11 PM
I have just noticed that while browsing through an Expansion (Theros in this case) if I wanted to enter a card into 'My Precious' by scrolling down on a particular card and clicking on 2 for example. It takes over 2 seconds for the blue marker to jump from none to 2.
I have removed all other apps running in the background but it still feels like the App is busy with something...
Does anybody else have this 'problem'?

Perhaps, what's your system info: app version, device, system version, free memory, jailbroken or not?

5144 cards... Is that a lot?

Not a lot, but I would still split it.

Is there a way to Split it? I wouldn't mind moving My Precious to binders for each Expansion, but it seems like a real difficult thing to accomplish.

Sure, you can go one by one, or export to csv, then split in spreadsheet, then import csv as separate binders.

Plan your collection management in advance, split them as you add them.

In the future versions there will be more options for splitting and mass move.

I'm unable to replicate this on my testing devices.

While browsing Theros and i click on to the Card page, ther i swipe to the next card and so forth. When i swipe , the small window with the binder 'numbers' seems to load.( the little loading dial appears for a short time) This loading seems to get longer and longer with every card i swipe on to....
Sorry... This the best way for to describe this phenomenon....

Does it go back to normal when you restart iMtG?

Just tried it... Yes it does.
I have to completely remove it from memory though.

I just realised that it should be fairly easy to split certain big binders into smaller: Card Database -> filter by binder for split + any other filter (by colour, ,expansion, rarity, whatever) -> make a New bookmark -> Main Menu -> Magic Binders -> edit -> Add New from Binder. Repeat until all cards from the big binder are in the smaller binders, then delete the big binder. Version 4.6 will add NOT option in filter to make it smoother. Terms and conditions: works with count = 1 collections only ;)

I get this. If I am adding bulk cards, it gets slower and slower to navigate and to accept input for number of cards. Ie putting in my theros cards, so browsing to each card and updating quantity, I probably quit and restarted the app 7 or 8 times. Each time restarting it comes back super fast again for a while.

Still awesome though :)

If I split my Precious out to binders is there a way to do searches across multiple binders? I have about 13,000 cards all in My Precious at the moment.

My Precious report and Card Database is able to filter by binders, no problem.

If I create say a binder for each expansion, and move all cards into them, how do I then search across all for putting for example a goblin deck where I want to know what I have across the whole collection? And is there then a way to simply browse the whole collection?

Yes, use card database.
