His monstrosity can be used the turn after he comes in. He nulls {Archangel of Thune} attacking, then can kill her with monstrosity trigger. Then turns into a 9/9

Meh, I would say strictly a limited or edh card, 3 G in the cmc is A LOT. No real competitive deck runs mono green, so that makes it really hard to cast, and there are better 5 drops out there. But I do agree his ability is decent, but then again not everyone runs flying which makes the reach pretty meh... Now if it was trample then it would be a different story. But hey if u can get it to work for you then that's good because now you got a cheap card to do some work for you! All the primordials in ravnica block were high cmc with good abilities but the fact of the matter is that it is just not really competitive in constructed. Although this and those are great in commander!
He's nice and if the format really slows down like it is supposed toand flying creatures start causing problems for green it could easily become a sideboard card. Also good for devotion. $5? probably not but $2-3 isn't unrealistic.

Agreed. He is amazing in limited and edh. But trample would have put him over the top amazing.
