Title: Gift of immortality
Post by: Leshrac on September 24, 2013, 08:47:53 PM
What happens when you put gift of immortality on something like kitchen finks or young wolf? Do they come back with counters?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you could choose either. It could either get the Persist and not have Gift, or not get Persist and get Gift (I think we all know what to choose)

I would thing they would come in with no counters as undying states "when this creatures dies.........", and does not state "when this creature moves from the graveyard to the battlefield....."

You have to choose. You could make the stack:

Top
Immortal
Undying/Persist
Bottom

And the card would come back with no counters. If you made it:

Top
U/P
Immortal
Bottom

The card would come back with a counter. And the Gift would still come back and attach at the end step.

Dies literally means moves from field to graveyard. It it an M12 revision they made to save space.
