Title: Daxos vs medomai
Post by: Darius on September 24, 2013, 08:06:34 PM
I pulled both  {Medomai the Ageless} and  {Daxos of Meletis} at the prerelease and grew attached to both of them. My question for all of you is which one should I build a commander deck around now? I'm at a loss. While I'm here if you have any recommendations for either if love to hear them! Thanks in advance!

Hmm... Either could work. Just depends on what you want. Daxos is going to fit in a Aggro UW deck, where as Medomai will fit in a more control deck

Daxos is tech against burn decks and low curve decks. Medomai is just fun to abuse, if you can get it double-strike.

Thanks guys! I actually think I'm going to go with daxos just for something different and avoid hate. I think he'd be cool with double strike as well though. Medomai will be in the deck of course.

You could always tKe infinite turns with medomai. {capsize} + {Humility}+ 10 mana and medomai= super happy fun timez

Huh, I couldn't find a way to get extra extra turns with medomai until now. Thank you!

no the card says he can't attack during extra turns therefore he couldn't attack even if you flicker him or replay him.

I think it actually works since you attack with him the first turn and then the next extra turn you play humility so his abilities go away and he can attack; then when he is about to do damage you capsize humility. He was already attacking so he still deals damage. It is very mana intensive I will say that

This is assuming he wasn't blocked though.

Very true. Although blue has no shortage of ways to make things unblockable.

I'd like Daxos over Medomai. He's almost drawpower on a stick. You'd get to play 2x the number of cool EDH cards as well :)
