Title: Commander league?
Post by: Qurtz on September 23, 2013, 11:01:39 AM
I recently did a commander league at a local game store over the course of a month and really enjoyed it, but say some overall flaws. I got the idea of creating one of my own along with a group of friends. Is there anyone in the Illinois area interested in an EDH league? It would probably be over the course of a month or so, with matches every weekend and the prizes consisting of Theros packs. I'm still kinda turning over the idea, and want to hear some opinions. Thanks!

Sorry about that. :P But yeah any ideas would be appreciated. Just need to find a large enough community of people. There will probably be a tiny ban list to stop unfair combos such as curiosity/ niv and helm/ rest in peace.

I am in the IL area but my edh deck isn't even half done yet. Still need oroginal duals and fetches, and numerous expensive cards like {Moat} and {Imperial Seal}. Don't know how you feel about proxies.

The way the league I went to did it was $5 each occasion. You get 5 free proxies and every proxy after that is a extra $1 to your fee. I'll probably go with that because it was pretty reasonable and allowed me to balance my deck. I want this to be more of a casual league, no huge competitive decks that get infinite turns, damage, etc. I know it's fun and I've done it before, but I'm just trying to find a way to balance out stuff like that. Any constructive criticism is perfectly fine
