Just want to see some people's opinions on the new expansion (well new to me I only just learned it was released) personally I think it's quite interesting and will promote slightly slower paced gameplay which I prefer over aggro decks that win on like turn 5 at the latest.
{Erebos, God of the Dead} is probably my favorite card I've seen.
{Whip of Erebos} + {Obzedat, Ghost Council} 😍
Its a nice set overall. It promotes odd strategies and cards that don't get played a lot. It encourages playing mono-color (devotion), using lots of combat tricks (Heroic) and huge creatures (Monstrosity). It also has a lot of counterspells that will slow things down but I was a little disappointed in the removal.
Well I'm a good casual player with friends. I'm all about the fun in the game and I love new cards M14 was...well I gotta be honest I'm not excited for much except {Fiendslayer Paladin}
But I love the concept of Theros.
It reminds me of Kamigawa which I haven't ever seen actual play but I love the concept of good and bad spirits. Samurai and ninjas and yeah. I love magic haha and that's a nasty combo up there :| nope nope nope!
I played back in Kamigawa and loved it. Too bad it did badly, now the chances are slim we ever return to that amazing plane.
But hey they can come out with similar ones that play well solely with the cards in that plane. (Like Theros) although some cards do confuse me a bit with this one
From what MaRo has said on Blogatog it seems there is a chance of returning to Kamigawa but only if it were destroyed by a MTG Villain.
Oh well that doesn't sound so good sounds to me like a bunch of Oni spirits escaping to other planes :|
I like it! I just thought Thassa would be worth the most, not {Stormcrow Dragon} and Phurosus (whatever)
What's the story behind theros?

Slower gameplay? How about turn 1 something that costs a blue, turn two, something, turn three {thassa} turn 4 {night veil specter} turn 5 8 unblockable damage and some for of evasion, turn 6 win.
Thassa is soo agro.
I think the person who played {night-veil specter} at a Theros prerelease was cheating...
Yeah, I pulled no mythics either. I didn't play anyone who played a mythic either though. It was mostly fatties smacking eachothers faces until someone top decked enough combat tricks.
Are you.. Showing off..

Are you (or your opponent for similar card effects) allowed to see the card in each pile?

Read the card again for your answer
The most utility goes to {Sylvan Caryatid}. Hexproof, and blocks 2/2's all day.
The Scry lands should be uncommon.
And my personal favorite card is {Daxis of Meletis}. Really cool card

Genius right here :/ but I was meaning like what about cards where it's seperate permanents into two piles like {Steam Augury}
I know you reveal them at the start but like are you allowed to see the piles when you make the choice?
Of course you can
It never said at random
Ok I was curious because my friend played steam what's it and I seperated the piles. And he said I wasn't supposed to show him which cards were in which piles.
The reveal clause in the beginning works throughout the cards abilities unless it says otherwise. So if it says reveal them, they are present and visible the entire time. Just like {Jace Architect of Thought}'s -2 ability
Ok thank you now that we're done with my noob questions back to Theros! I really want God of death!
