Blogatog has a lot of odd stuff but a lot of the stuff is not that important. I thought maybe we should have a thread bringing important updates from the Blog so that we could get the info. If this works out I was thinking about making one for DailyMTG.
growingthreat asked: So Kiora is conspicuously missing from Theros. Seems like she would be right at home there with her love of leviathans and giant monsters. Should we give up hope at seeing her?
Never give up hope. I'm not saying it's Theros block, but I promise you that you will get to see her one day.
Don't underestimate Heroic:
lovewhatyouvebecome asked: You've mentioned that Heroic is being underestimated, that is was an important ability that came up a lot during testing. We've only seen 87 cards in the set so far (and that's including basic lands). Is it safe to assume that some of the cards that have not been spoiled will make Heroic a better ability?
Are there some heroic enablers other than auras? Absolutely.
Lmao that's an awesome name, blogatog
Interesting response that makes me wonder:
uwcontrol asked: About the Scrylands: Will we see them in RtR colors...? We need the complete cycle
MaRo: I wouldn't worry we won't complete the cycle.
That's Magic, thinking ahead as usual:
sublaughable asked: Was it nice coincidence that you Returned to Ravnica right before Theros, given that the original Ravnica had an enchantment subtheme? Or was that intentional?
I like to say nothing is a coincidence.
Sarkan in Theros?
talinthas asked: Planeswalkers are a super limited resource for you guys, so why are you making so many one and done planeswalkers? X guy could have easily been a rebranded Sarkhan Vol, for instance.
Wait until we tell the story before declaring he could have just been Sarkhan Vol.
Dodging questions about the Minor Theros Gods
alexcm4297 asked: Will the 10 minor gods in Born of Gods and Journey into Nyx be mythic rare or rare?
Yes. : )
Planeswalkers with four Abilities
alexcm4297 asked: Why was Jace, the Mind Sculptor banned just for having 4 abilities? I understand that it gives the player more options but it wasn't an overpowered card. Will we ever see planeswalkers with more (or less) than three abilities or is it locked in at 3?
Jace was banned for being overpowered. Having four abilities might have contributed to that but he was not banned for having four abilities meaning other planeswalkers in the future could have them if we wanted them to.
No Tri-Color in Theros :(
meatloaf-of-darkness asked: Is there any chance that 3-color could show up in Theros?
There is always a chance but as the set does not have much of a multicolor focus, I'll be honest it isn't a large chance.

In the article revealing the first five, Sam Stoddard wrote directly that all 10 lands exist, but they released these five first to make up for the RtR shocks having more time in standard last year. The other five will come out in the next two sets, either spread out or all in one.

Xenagos will be like it this year.. I bet he turns into another planeswalker this block.

Or is he implying that Sarkhan Vol will be in Theros by saying Xeganos couldn't have been Sarkhan?
^^^ this
Th latter. Sarkan wouldn't fit in the set because the greek flavor doesn't go with that.

I was going to send my commander {Sharuum the Hegemon} and...........a {Storm Crow}
Interesting conversation on Blogatog: Which came first {Centaur Courser} or {Nessian Courser}? Nessian Courser was first but Future Shifted from Theros but Centaur Courser was printed in M10 and M13 so before the "original set" but after the Futuresight printing...

kallixti asked: Since Nessian Courser was futureshifted from Theros, doesn't that make Centaur Courser technically the original?
Hmm, (shakes first in air) Time travel!
