When you are playing Magic do you prefer to go first and get a time advantage or second and card advantage?

first. As much as possible.
First. The first to play advantage outweighs the card advantage. I started going first when I was running a mana ramp land destruction deck and its stuck ever since
First!
Me too! I was just wondering if there was anyone who chooses second, so I can see the reasoning and/or if any deck types benefit form going second.

Lol, I don't know...you usually have to choose first or second before you look at your hand so that's a really risky card. Does it get played (i don't know much about eternal formats)?
I love going first. Nothing better than a t1 {temple garden} into an {elvish mystic} then getting a t2 {Seller of Songbirds}
Never run {Seller of Birds}

In slower limited environments going second can have more benefits. I think this was the case during RoE but idk correct me if I'm wrong
I only consider going second in sealed because drawing extra cards can make all the difference in that format.
First for any deck besides my esper control. Unsummoning their elvish mystic t1 is really fun :D
First.
Depends, in my playgroup we have the "gentlemans mulligan" in which u get a free mulligan to redraw 7. If I still don't have the perfect land count but don't want to go to 6, I may go second. But I'd say 90% of the time or greater 1st
I always want to go first in legacy (unless I was playing manaless dredge of course).
First. Tempo wins games.
Our playgroup doesn't pick who goes first.What we do is after we sfuffle our cards,we draw,then we cut the deck in half.The one woth the card with the lowest CMC goes first.
