Title: Archangel of Thune
Post by: Agrus Kos, Enforcer of Truth on September 03, 2013, 06:17:21 PM
Okay, maybe not an amazing combo but kind of funny. Here's what I did:
Turn 3-{Ajani, Caller of the Pride}
Turn 4-{Rhox Faithmender}
Turn 5-{Archangel of Thune}, used Ajani to put a counter on her
Turn 6-{Chalice of Life}, {Elixir of Immortality}, Ajani and an attack with Archangel puts her up to a 9/10
Turn 7-{Sanguine Bond}, give {Archangel of Thune} double strike with Ajani.
Would have swung for 9 with double strike and dealt 18 with Sanguine Bond (total of 36) if my opponent had not have scooped.

Your opponent will then wait till you finish your combo and exile them with {angel of serenity} followed by an attack with {master of cruelties}

{archangel of thune} plus {angelic skirmisher}.  Lots of lifelink.

All of the lifegain from lifelink happens at the same time so having multiple creatures with lifelink won't add multiple counters.

Actually, it does! Check out the rulings on the archangel. Why does it work like this? Each instance of lifegain from each creature creates a new trigger on the stack. They all resolve independently of each other. :)

The ruling.

7/1/2013   A creature with lifelink dealing combat damage is a single life-gaining event. For example, if two creatures you control with lifelink deal combat damage at the same time, Archangel of Thune's ability will trigger twice. However, if a single creature with lifelink deals combat damage to multiple creatures, players, and/or planeswalkers at the same time (perhaps because it has trample or was blocked by more than one creature), the ability will trigger only once.
