Can someone explain to me the benefit of a Duskmantle Seer? Other than having cool artwork and being mythic rare, I do not see a plus side
It's an extra draw. Drawing is always good
I call him Big Bob
He is especially good if you are running mill because most mill cards are low cost. Also is amazing with X casting costs, because X is 0
I like {Bloodgift Demon} better. Why is it not used as much? I feel that the chance of loss of large amounts of life makes {Duskmantle Seer} too risky to play if you're winning, especially in a control deck where you can stop an opponent's possible comeback. Also, it's two colors. The only reason i see that it would be better is if you're losing and have no other option, or because it costs a mana less.
{Duskmantle Seer} is cheaper(mana cost-wise) and can easily kill opponents using decks with BIG creatures. Imagine it against a {Garruk, Caller of Beasts} deck that runs huge Mo-fos like {Worldspine Wurm}. It also puts the game on a clock and forces people to do things they otherwise wouldn't
Wow that makes much more sense. Thanks everyone!

Or add {Elderscale Wurm}
A big ".love. you" to Eldrazi decks. (Not that anyone uses Eldrazi)
