Right, but humans are losing so much it might function as a finisher if they stall out

At most, it's sided in against control. Humans still have a bit of punch left in them

Door of destinies is an excellent card in certain decks. If I get it out in my standard sliver deck odds are I'm going to win unless they drop a board wipe. Also run it in my elf deck and goblin deck, though in those cases I don't normally need it as much. Yet, it does help bc all 3 of these decks are run on 1-3 drops and door gets pumped fast.

I know you have the "human" theme, but maybe a one of {archangel of thune} for the boosts. Could do the job of the previously recommended door, while still giving you the option of another creature.

 {Archangel of Thune} is a tempting choice. Could drop a  {Blood Baron of Vizkopa} for it.
